Many Hands One Heart- Launch
July 18, 2016 @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeMany Hands One Heart is a newly established network to support people seeking asylum and refugees living in Liverpool and the surrounding areas who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or trans. We provide a safe, supportive and confidential space once per fortnight for LGBT people seeking asylum and refugees to meet on another, talk and receive advice, support and information from professionals, services and each other. The network is led by Sahir House and supported by Mersey Care Mental Health Trust, The Armistead Centre, Liverpool Community Development Services and Queer Notions.
The group started at the end of March this year and since then our membership has grown from 5 individuals to 12 and has been extremely successful so far.
We are therefore holding an event to launch Many Hands One Heart to professionals, services, academics and the public where we’ll be talking about LGBT asylum issues and the experiences of people living in Liverpool through presentations and workshops. There will also be opportunities to share knowledge and network with relevant organisations.
We invite anyone who may be interested in learning more about Many Hands One Heart to attend our Launch, particularly professionals who may have clients or service users they may want to refer to our network.
Open to the public.
