In addition to the events below, art work will appear and disappear across the city thanks to our commissioned artists… More events are being added all the time so come back soon!
Join Festival 31 for an annual celebration of arts and culture from refugee communities. This year’s festival theme, ‘a shared future’, is being shaped by eight local artists from refugee backgrounds. Responding to a series of photographs created by local communities with the support of photojournalist Howard Davies, they will present new work that encourages discussion and a better understanding of the current refugee crisis.
Drop in to Tate Exchange and join the conversation by learning and sharing new creative skills, discussing the issues raised by the work on display, and meeting the artists.
Run by SOLA ARTS, Festival 31 brings together refugees, wider communities, individuals, grassroots, small and larger organisations for a 31 day experience across the whole city every year. This series of workshops and discussions has been programmed in association with Tate Exchange Liverpool Associate, SOLA ARTS.
The exhibition runs for the full opening hours of the TATE Liverpool (9am – 6pm daily), with opportunities to meet artists between 11am and 1pm.
