In 2016 we had several activities, exhibitions or events every day during the festival. We worked with over 30 organisations and community activists to deliver an ever expanding programme throughout the month.
This year we focused on commissioning and inviting activity and events which incorporate food, creativity, culture and dialogue about refugee issues or provide a mutual shared space between people from refugee and wider communities.
You will see in the events calendar that there are numerous exciting and dynamic ‘Creative Cafe’ activities happening with partners including Squash Nutrition, OLC Productions, and Zest UK.
FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD!

FESTIVAL31 2016 is bringing photographer Howard Davies to Liverpool to work with local Syrian refugee artists and Year 6 pupils to explore the concept of ‘borders’.
Through assemblies and workshops, students will draw on Howard’s incredible catalogue of photos that document international migration and work with textile and visual artists to respond. Schools will get to keep the large scale work that is created on the day for display.
We’re delighted to announce a new partner school St Finbar’s in the Dingle will be working with Howard and our team.
In addition, festival partner Alder Hey Hospital – CAMHS & Merseycare – are working with local pupils to write letters to those who need to listen.
